Monday group run

Every Monday at 7pm, we meet up, split into our pace groups and head out together. We don’t run the same route every week. We explore woodland, riverside paths, roads, trails and Cheshire countryside. Wherever we go, we keep the club ethos of No One Left Behind.

No One Left Behind, the Rock Salt Runners club slogan

We run at different locations and Wednesday sessions vary. Come along for a taster run before you decide whether to join. Use our WhatsApp Community link to get in touch, and we’ll let you know where to meet. Once you’ve decided to join, the community shares weekly session and location details.

Three pace groups

We’ve simplified our Monday runs into three main pace groups. This makes it easier for new runners to understand where they fit while still giving everyone the opportunity to progress. The groups are based around our typical running paces, but they aren’t rigid. If your pace changes, your group can change too.

Run somewhere different every week

Rock Salt isn’t about running the same route every Monday. We explore some of the best running locations around Winsford and Cheshire.

Starting from the craft centre and heading out along the Whitegate Way into surrounding Cheshire countryside.

Delamere Forest

Beautiful forest trails, with the option to take on a climb and enjoy some varied terrain if you’re feeling strong.

Wednesday training

Wednesday is our structured training night at 7pm. Sessions include intervals, repetitions, hills, circuits and other workouts designed to improve your running. Whether you’re preparing for a 5K, trying to improve your 10K time or building towards a marathon, structured training can help you get there. And you don’t have to be a fast runner. Every session can be adapted to your own pace and ability.

Pace groups

Our three main groups cover typical running paces from around 8 to 12 minutes per mile. The groups can adapt depending on who is running that week, and you can move between them as your pace changes. Not sure where you fit? Speak to one of our leaders and we’ll help you find a comfortable group.
